The grass-free lawn project at Dorchester Borough Gardens

Many thanks to Joy Wallis, volunteer with Dorset Wildlife trust for kindly sharing this inspiring case study.

Over 4,000 local people were directly involved in the project which was a fantastic way of highlighting the plight of wild bees and showing how we can all do something to help whether in a public place or our own gardens. The team are continuing to add to the "lawn" over the summer with the help of the Friends of the Borough Gardens drawing more people into caring for their local park as well. It has already "spawned" several other "lawns" in the area.
